i had this random idea
how about making the robot to move in straight line ,till it detects the Conner of the room (we can use some detection points ) once it detect it ,it will take the path with longest distance
and if it detects a obstacle it will go around it and take the straight path again

what do you think ?

Maybe possible. But with ultrasonic sensor, multipath problem is a big issue. Couple that with large reflection cone on HC SR05 and at max range of 4m, longest distance calculations are usually not very accurate. At times, off by 2 meters. Maybe if higher quality/priced sensors were used?

Building a basic robot wont be a problem
we will finish it soon
infact 80% work is done
the only major challenge is the software

how about using the opposite of it
when it detects the shortest path it will move opposite to it
