INSPIRATION

Hello everyone,
i’ve worked with few home home automation based startup’s, and have pretty interesting set of problem statements which i would like to add later to this project. Apart from that, i have worked on a IoT project suite called " Ivy Suite " which is basically a open Source hardware suite for Artik Cloud, that aims at extending the support of artik cloud to devices that aren’t compatible. It is basically a collection of small devices build around open source hardware like arduino and ESP. the suite consists of:

  • Smart Button
  • Smart reader
  • Smart socket
  • Smart bulb

You can checkout the project here:
link

though the project is meant for artik cloud we can port that to any custom cloud.
cheers…

How was your experiemce with artik cloud? Could you point us in the direction to learn this? Also how is it better than arduino or pi?

I found artik cloud hard to learn. While thingspeak and blynk is easy to implement on any kind of hardware.

Bryan Byrnes : artik cloud gives you a lot of fexibility to connect IoT devices across any platfrom. It does not have much documentations/examples though, but once you really get to know the working of it, it’ll be easy.

Abhi Verma : If you compare it with thinkspeak or blynk, artik cloud might seem difficult but some features like cross device rule-books and manifest generation make artik cloud more useful.
