Control speed of free falling mass

As we know that free falling object is continuously accelerating so in order to hatness gravity we need constant speed, consequently there is need to design mechanism which can make the mass fall with same speed.

Yes u understood right, my idea is to tie a mass with string or something then let it fall freely, while falling it will accelerate rapidly instead of constant velocity, if we xan come up with mechanish which can absorb the energy while allowing mass to fall with almost constant velocity then absorbed energy xan be saved in reservoir like flywheel, battery capacitor spring etc

Faiz Ur Rehman we can use a dc motor with supply given to its terminal to acheive this. DC motor has a property that if the speed of the motor, upon increase in external mechanical load in the direction of rotation of the motor, exceeds rated speed motor acts as a generator. With that generating action, the speed of the body decreases as the motor opposes it.
This mechanism is used in Traction trains to control the speed when the train is driven on a slope.
But to make it work with exact speed with minimum error a control system needed to be used.

for this purpose we will have to provide energy to the system thus decreasing our efficient if generator overall. I think a mechanical mechanism would be more appropriate as no power will required to operate it (as in case of motor).

I guess Gravity generator would fit this discussion where the freely falling body would be under a mechanical mechanism which would be a geared system and the shaft would be connected to a generator or any mechanical storing device such as spring or fly wheel etc. The gear tooth ratio would be such that with 1 rotation at the input there would be several rotation at the output… with that we can get controlled speed as well as energy storage … Electrical or mechanical according to the application

hi, I have worked on a project recently based on this very idea of using gravity as a potential source of energy during an collage competition. i recognize the problem u r facing and i think i can solve it. Though i have not tested the solution but i think it will work.

This kind of mechanism will require a gear train that wud reduce the final rmp i.e. a gear ratio of less than 1. then connect the output to a high torque dynamo. Now all this might seem contrary to general sense but this is a possible solution.
