Public Holiday Content Marketing

It has been proven that marketing around the public holiday/social events calendar can improve the audience you gain. Using ‘trending’ or ‘popular’ hashtags for major holiday such as 4th of July can increased your target audience by around 15%.

But how? This is due to vast amount of people tweeting and also looking through content to do with that subject matter. For instance if i searched ‘4th July’ in Twitter I would automatically become distracted and scroll through potentially hundreds of tweets in that topic. This is a good way for businesses to create eye catching content and promote their brand through this way.

Twitter now has this helpful new feature for business users that allows access to the ‘events calendar’ - showcasing all the popular upcoming events and how large the potential audience is. Had anyone else been using this feature? Do you find it successful?

I would love to hear some feedback from others currently marketing brands and products and if they feel this type of marketing helps.
