Update

One thing that I’ve been concerned about was the laser shielding. For safety it needs to be enclosed but I’d like to watch it work & show it off. So I started my hunt for a way to make windows that would block UV light from getting in or out. I was starting to think I’d have to do without windows because the price of shielding was going to add a lot to the cost of the printer & one of the goals is to keep the price low. A few days ago I found a place in St. Louis that sells 21" x 24" light filter sheets that we can use for only $6.40.

I also picked up 2 12" x 12" x 0.25" sheets of STARPHIRE Ultra-Clear Glass from Vitro that may end up being used for the vat, 4 4" pieces of 2020 aluminum extrusion & 2 4’ x 8’ sheets of high grade plywood to use for the base.
I’m planing to use my 3d printer to make most of the custom parts from PLA.
