Anyone read the news, lately?
How many of you listen to the news? Do you watch it on TV or see it on the sidebar on your Facebook? Maybe you get Twitter alerts sent to your mobile devices instead? There’s always crazy stories happening in the news. Sometimes they can be as serious and important as talking about a competitive presidential election, or as wacky as “Florida Man Arrested For Marrying His Tractor”… and no, just because I’m from Florida doesn’t mean that I’ll marry my tractor. We’ll probably go on a few dates first and see where it goes from there ;)
Anyways, what we see in the news can inspire us create stories. Just this week, the first feature trailer for the summer comedy film War Dogs, starring Miles Teller and Jonah Hill, was based on a Rolling Stones article about two potheads from Miami that became weapons contractors and war profiteers. Also recently, the football drama Concussion starring Will Smith was based on an investigative article published in a GQ magazine!
What are some crazy headlines, or stories, from the news that have the potential to create the beginning for a great story?
