In modern #mechanical #engineering, #cams and followers are an important timing tool required in automation and used wherever repetitive motions are required(such as engine exhaust valves and bottling industries).
Although softwares for designing cam profiles are already present in the market,my idea is to develop a simple open source tool for students which shall help them in checking their accuracy in designing the cam profiles at basic as well as industrial levels
Development of a profile check tool for mechanical engineering students to check their CAM profile designs using basic java coding on BlueJ environment and extensively using canvas class of #java.
I’ve already started working on the code for designing cam profiles and have an algorithm ready for accepting the parameters for the cam profile to be drafted.
However my coding experience is limited and am trying to learn the graphics packages in C and java and am looking for collaborators who can help me with developing the application to be used by undergrads.
The #Algorithm for the profile design will take sometime too but I am almost through the input region of the code.
