QUESTION
  ·  Mark as Answered

This sounds like a great idea. But, why do you want top use a Raspberry Pi? I mean you can just develop a highly interactive and user friendly voice controlled Android App that can run on a cheap android based tablet. Raspberry Pi + Touch screen will cost you more than 5K INR, while you can get a decent quality tablet for the same or lesser price. But, if you are planning to do just more than video calling, like controlling something in real world that can someway help or assist an elderly, then only the raspberry pi maybe a good choice.

Sandhan Sarma i,m using Raspberry pi as it does not have any limitations like android tablets will have. Secondly using Rpi will help us to learn. And this device will have limited functions for helping the elderly.

🚀 The Hackathon officially begins today, November 3rd Pi Video Calling Team!!!

My Personal Thoughts

Abhi Verma work hard to document the step by step granular roadmap towards coming up with the first version of your hack. This way teammates on your hackathon team can see how they can best contribute.

Teammates are also able to see the beautiful project/hack story you’ve laid out – and can opt in to helping you lead the project and tell you where they can help.

Let’s Hack!!

Some General Tips to Get Started Successfully with Your Hack

  • Begin recruiting teammates for your hack

  • Begin to lay out in the Collaborizm Discussion and team chat the first steps to setting up environments and really breaking ground with the Hack

  • Remember, All Collaborizm Mentors for the Hackathon are listed on the Main Hackathon Page here Kandy myDevices iOT Pajama Hackathon! if you are looking to ask questions or receive additional help.

Hackathon Prizes!

The cash prizes for this event are as follows:

1st place - $3,000 USD
