Thermoelectric Tutorial Part 10: Printing - The Future Of Thermoelectrics

Commercial off the shelf thermoelectric modules today are made using ceramic plates surrounding the conductive metals.

Progress is being made in creating thermoelectric inks and pastes that can be printed onto materials using processes like screen printing, for printing onto t-shirts or other soft substrates. This application of thermoelectric technology is mainly being considered for generating electricity (energy harvesting) from waste heat using the Seebeck effect, but could be used for creating Peltier effect cooling or heating.

Here is a good overview of what thermoelectrics might look like in the future: http://www.ernw.ac.uk/getfile.php?type=site_documents&id=3 CDT Progess of low cost organic thermoelectric materials and devices 2016.pdf
