So just to clear up the task a little bit more, we’re looking for someone to take a common RC car, open it up, replace internals with arduino (since it’s cheaper than a Pi) and some kind of motor board (please pick something cheap and common), also I’m guessing a NRF24L01+ PA+ LNA module for control should be used but that’s just my preference.

The tutorial can be text with images but obviously videos are preferred if possible, also please post all the code needed to make it happen as well as thorough directions/documentation of each step.

Robert Lancer Steven Reubenstone I think we really need to bump up this tutorial to at least $35 since whoever chooses to do it has to buy parts to actually make it happen.

Anton Voltchok Robert Lancer No doubt there are cheap R.C car in the market, but when it comes to further modifying it, better is the budget, better will be the functionality and quality. Even $35 will be small. Recently as a part of my hobby in my free time I had started making one of it and crossed Rs.15,000 INR (~$230). No doubt it has many functionalities rather than just being a car.

We’re only looking for the basics we can do another tutorial later about adding sensors / obstacle avoidance / etc… but we just want the bare minimum here just to ease some people into hacking stuff.

I was suggestion raising it to $35 because that will at least cover the cheap versions of all the components Steven Reubenstone

Anton Voltchok Yes you are right, but if I convert dollar to my currency I will just get a R.C car at this budget.

I can do this under $35. We can have cheap chinese rc car and use the chasis and motors. Also add nrf and Bluetooth modules to convert it into a smart rc car.
