why cannot we make the wheels to planatory gear with gear belt we can make

Hello everyone. I am new to the discussion but upon reading it all, I thought that the 4 legged system would be much more robust rather than the planetary gear system because it would give u ease in access to a much higher ground. In fact I would suggest a 4 legged system with a knee in each leg for a much easier access and more degrees of rotation. Rest the decision is upon the project leader according to the the terrain she wants to use the bot into.

It seems that there isn’t a clearly defined purpose for this robot. The discussion could go on forever about what type of locomotion or powerplant or sensors are the best.

If we just knew the purpose and some example tasks this robot is expected to perform, then we can discuss on some solid ground.

I agree with Arpit Verma and Mert Torun, we should first define our problem first to get its solution; because in many cases quad-pedal robot would be efficient but much more expensive, on the other hand, geared system would be less efficient but cheaper than quad-pedal one.
