I’ve been doing a lot of research on 3d resin printers & I’m having doubts/concerns about this design. My main concern is the speed. This would have around the same layer speed as a fdm printer(maybe even slower) but with a much smaller layer height. This could make for some extremely long print times.
One way to help solve this problem would be to use Galvo scanners but that would add a lot of expense & new issues.
Another way would be to use a UV modified DLP projector. Yet again this would add a lot of expense & new issues.
The way I’m thinking about trying is using a High Resolution LCD with the backlight replaced with high power UV LEDs. With a good screen & UV backlight we should get good quality prints with layer times of a few seconds(it may take longer to tilt the vat & lift the build plate than to print the layer). This shouldn’t add much if any to the price & leaves us with only moving the z axis.
