Nice work on the App! I installed it and messed around.

I can’t believe you coded all that for 3 platforms 🏆! Will be great when you can just do everything in React Native.

I think it can use some more contextual streamlining. I think you have to pick a focus of friends or dating, mixing those two contexts can create awkward situations and not serve either market well.

To me making friends I think would be a better pick as dating is saturated and I don’t see people really wanting to spend time playing a game with someone as opposed to setting up as many in person dates as possible via another app.

There is a lot of code :) That’s the goal, making everything Javascript.

Thanks for the feedback. I am planning to add a functionality to ask questions to users to understand their behavior and show matches based on those. Actually there was a matching algorithm behind that is matching users based on their behavior. But since the user base was small the matching set becomes smaller and decreases retention. That’s why I reverted it back to plain search with no smart algorithm behind.

Planning to add a separate section for those smart matching but this will happen once I unify everything in Javascript.

What’s the though process behind not limiting it to one context? More market?

There is a higher chance that you can grab the conversation if you base it on a context. We think game sets a good context, therefore we use games as an ice-breaker.

Uses Pusher for real time communication.

The front end communicates with the backend using an API - https://api.glint.social:443 secured using Basic Authentication.
