In my opinion this is kind of a ripoff most due to the lack of a diversity receiver

If you’re unfamiliar, a diversity receiver has 2 antennas, and every millisecond it takes which ever antenna has a stronger signal, and puts that signal through the screen, so you can have 2 different types of antennas, a cloverleaf for a circular area coverage, and a patch antenna for directionality, so this will give you the best of both worlds and will always pick the strongest signal. Obviously having a good signal is extremely important for FPV, since you know, it’s a bit hard to fly when you can’t see anything 😲

  • Right now Banggood has a different (and MUCH better version) of those goggles for exactly the same price ($79, however the sale ends tomorrow March 8th, these goggles are a pretty safe buy, for that price nothing better out there, you can hack on a DVR module to it too pretty easy) http://www.banggood.com/Eachine-VR-D2-5-Inches-800480-40CH-Raceband-5_8G-Diversity-FPV-Goggles-with-DVR-Lens-Adjustable-p-1074866.html?p= QF24117532165201611M

  • WHAT YOU “GAIN” -> So essentially the goggles you posted have a terrible tradeoff, so what you “get” is the ability to detach the monitor from the foam part… this is useless, let me tell you, I have an earlier version of these goggles, and I don’t always fly with it on my head, plenty of times I’ll just have the goggles sitting in my lap and watching the screen like that. It has a fresnel lens inside so it’s pretty easy to see everything even if it’s not on your head.

  • WHAT YOU LOSE -> The goggles I posted are a diversity receiver setup, I have the older version VR-007, and I don’t really care about the increased resolution of the screen in the 008 as much as I care about that diversity receiver, I’m actually sad I don’t have it haha (And thinking about hacking together my own diversity receiver)

Harsha Alva remember today is the last day for this deal from banggoood

All good, as long as you don’t buy the other one haha. That one receiver you sent me before, the Mini FPV Receiver UVC Video Downlink OTG for Android, that seems like a winner to me. For $20 and an android phone, plus a $5 antenna, you’re pretty much good to go as far as a starter kit goes. My only concern would be the delay / latency from the analog to digital video conversion, so check out the reviews on it, if it’s not too bad, and you have an android phone, this seems like a no brainer. (I have an iPhone, but this really makes me I still had my old Android, I own google cardboard, so it would have been great to just buy that and have a super cheap 2nd headset)
