If you’re interested in that and want to save tons of money, all the major drone manufacturers in one way or another run on the open source software OpenPilot, this has very large number of developers contributing to it for free in addition to the manufacturers.
As a result they have a top notch suite of components you can plug in to your drone including obstical avoidance, full featured GPS guided flight, full featured flight control modification with every sensor type imaginable, etc…
So if you don’t wanna fork over tons of money for extreme top notch components like Tegra K1 (kinda nuts they put that in there haha) , #openpilot has you covered.
Faiz, to me what’s extremely interesting in that article is they link to www.ros.org, I was just checking out the open source libraries in there and they are incredible, there’s one that takes sensor data and literally maps out a complete 3D model visualization on the screen of how the bots see the world,
thanks for posting that link man I’m psyched on this Robot Operating System (ROS) find, really cool.
