After some difficult experiences with other PCB prototyping services, I’ve been really impressed so far by Macrofab. It has been incredibly easy to get a quote and delivery estimate from them based on an uploaded Eagle Gerber file.
They’ve also been really good about reaching out to help throughout the process, and seem like they are very focused on making makers successful.
They manufacture in the US and Mexico but will ship worldwide.
Suraj Parasuram Yes - the PCB used in the Cool India project is being updated with a better power supply and a USB 3.0 Type C connector. Once that’s done it will be sent out for manufacturing - probably 30 - 50 boards. I’m planning on sending most of those boards back to Cool India project members so they can use them for development and testing.
Suraj ParasuramThe platform is open-source, so you can use it for design work if you’d like. If you have an idea for what you’d like to do, feel free to share it with me or the Cool India project team and we can help with it. For example, the next iteration of the board should have Internet of Things capabilities, Bluetooth and a better display. If you wanted to get a jump on those items, it would be amazing.
