Yes Sir it is possible… I am presently doing it in my project. I have sensors connected to arduino and the data gathered must be transmitted wirelessly to raspberry pi via ESP8266 shield. Make your RPi a simple server with database in it so that data will be stored there.

Depending on the kind of calculations and the architecture you have defined you might even stick to plain ESP8266 …no need from a Raspberry Pi, I mean this component has enough power to read sensors and communicate data to a DB or even expose a Web Server from which you can query values.

Hello Tanveer,

  1. Connect your arduino and esp8266 using spi protocol(use internet you will find a way soon)
2.make arduino and esp8266 talk to each other like arduino sends data to esp and esp sends acknowledgement then use MQTT protocol to connect your esp to push data to internet
3.receive data from internet through mqtt in raspi

if you need any help pm me. I can help you
