Yes it is challenging topic.
But u have to hack the brain . Implement some circuitary inside brain which can convert brain signals into bits and bytes .
Study of brain is important. Where the memories are stored and how they are stored.
You can detect some micro volt signals outside the skull by using probes and control circuitary which will act to the signal .

But it is very difficult to detect the memories whithout implementing some circuitary inside the brain.

Or else catch the telepathy signals which another theroy
