Over the last 4-5 years it seems Adobe Creative Suite has just dominated professional design, video editing, and special FX, if you guys are students, from what I remember Adobe offers a very good student discount. Ever since they introduced the dynamic link feature, it’s hard to use any other software because it’s so much slower. For example, you can design a vector cartoon character, link it over to After Effects, any changes you make in illustrator update the character in After Effects, then you can link it to Character Animator, which will also reflect Illustrators changes. Character animator because of the link doesn’t need to do long renders, as you move and talk in your web cam the character real time moves and talks along with you, which is instantly linked back in After Effects without any render times. Then once you are finished with a couple clicks you can open up Adobe Premier and do video editing, then if you need to do some fine tuning on a specific shot, you link it to After Effects, make the tweaks, then results are immediately available in Premier. I’ve never even imaged a workflow this smooth and fast was possible, Adobe stepped up it’s game big time which seems to be why everyone is switching over, so I suggest to those who can, to check it out, if you are going to put time into learning software in this field, I can’t imagine anything besides the Adobe Suite will have as much of a pay off.

I could never do without the Adobe Creative Suite, it has moved on a great deal and if you can afford to I would recommend it to anyone interested in the creative field of illustration, digital art, animation etc
