Technical Guides (Rules of Engagement)

Why Technical Guides?

Technical Guides play two absolutely critical roles in your product development process, (1) creating a Technical Roadmap that actually makes sense (2) helping oversee the engineers and designers working on your job.

How Technical Guides Interact with your Job

Phase I: Technical Planning Phase

This is the first step of your project. You will be introduced to a Technical Guide, who has expertise in your project’s area of focus. Your guide will work with you to come up with a low-level Technical Roadmap, provide feedback on your initial idea, and leverage business experience to sculpt your Technical Roadmap. Your Technical Guide is also responsible for helping you officially build your specialized engineering and design team, from The Collaborizm Talent Pool.

Phase II: Team Phase

Once your Technical Plan is signed off and sealed, and your Technical Guide has formed your team, you will be ready to begin engineering and development.

In all sophisticated projects, there will be times where Technical Guides will need to be called upon. This is natural, and will happen for a variety of reasons. An emerging technical issue, clarity on the Technical Plan, or the need for additional team members. The Technical Guide will be active in an on demand capacity – meaning your guide can swoop in and out to help with these issues.

How Billing Works (and not Billing)

Phase I

Billable

  • Roadmap Creation (includes Roundtable)
  • Technical Research
  • Job listing curation and role specification development
  • Technical conversations with talent

Customer will be alerted every after every 5 hours of billable labor. Detailed time sheets will be submitted each billing period. Customer can pause Technical Guidance hours at anytime, however, you will clearly see this is an unwise decision. Our guides are not here to make money off of you, they are here to make sure complex projects stay on track.

Non Billable

  • Introductory conversations about vision and product
  • Internal organization and administrative tasks
  • Explanation of Collaborizm Rules to customer

Phase II
