i have a simpler idea. place all sensors in a staright line as perpendicular to line.Use even number of sensors and let 3 be left sensors and 3 be right sensors. Read all sensor values.if left values have more one than right values turn left.if vice versa on right .if equal move forward.That is another algorithm… try which you liked.

5 sensors are enough, but i would suggest you to first build it with 3 sensors(IR sensor modules) read the logic on internet. I will be uploading a video tutorial on it very soon on my youtube channel “jack094”.
