Install Node.js 7.x on Raspberry Pi 2 or 3

This is taken from an excellent article by Dave Johnson. You can read the entire article here.

Steps

  1. Open a terminal.

  2. Update package repository indexes.
    sudo apt update

  3. Download and update packages.
    sudo apt full-upgrade

  4. Download the latest Node.js binary from NodeSource.
    curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_7.x | sudo -E bash -

  5. Install the downloaded binary.
    sudo apt install nodejs

  6. Check and verify if the installation was successful.
    node -v

Now you have installed the latest Node.js version on your Raspberry Pi!
