Those things are very easy, you will get ready made code from internet. Better focus on the user configuration and deployment aspects. Once you have the device ready, the end user should be able to configure it so that it connects to a router with specified SSID and Password, reset it in case a new router is purchased, options for dynamic and static IP configurations, etc. You cannot programme the device each time the connection settings changes.

the hardest part is just setting up the wifi connection and then making proper http request and then storing that information.

I have some experience doing this with arduino.

All you need to receive is binary data? Like what information for LCD?

Yesterday, I made a localhost in my computer and created a json file. and in esp8266 loop it checks every time whether the light is on or off. The problem is it continuously pings the server. I have to make a mechanism so esp has to push update only if some changes occur
