Mosfet Gate drive

Jagannath Sahoo and Me were trying to build an Inverter circuit and a Buck boost converter circuits using IRFZ44N N-Channel MOSFET. We are facing problem in driving the mosfet. We are trying to use it as a Low side switch in the buck-boost converter with a flyback topology.

Thanks to Abhi Verma for explaining the basics. I tried to build the gate drive circuit using BC547 but at higher frequencies the turnoff and turnon time increases and the square waveform becomes somewhat curvy (depicting more of capacitive nature).

Both of the circuits (Buck-Boost and Inverter) depends on the switching of Mosfet. We are using 13v from a lead acid battery… Again we tried using IR2110 driver but It isn’t working… I don’t know what am I doing wrong. Please help me figuring out the issue.

60Khz frequency

10Khz frequency

1Hz frequency

i have simulated the bootstrap ckt and it gives above waveforms. you can’t achieve perfect square wave in any case. everything have rise time delay. even this pointed wave forms are better for switching. try the ckt.

Abhi Verma… thank you for your helping hand… I’m now able to drive mosfet using bjt and IRF2110 mosfet driver… tried implementing the buck boost converter with partial success…
Have some doubts lingering in mind regarding voltage drop, open circuit voltage and power flow in battery powered dc circuits
