I’m again unable to ping all servers from the EC2 instance as well. Previously I created a VPS on Amazon Lightsail there also, was not able to ping all IPs or servers. Now same is happening with the EC2 instance. I guess the problem is with some security or firewall rules which govern the allowance or denial of To and Fro of the TCP connections. I overviewed some topics on IPtables and ufw for resolving the issue… but got very much confused.
When we use a bitnami image in lightsail VPS, the ping works perfectly. but when a base ubuntu image is used for the same … it doesn’t work… all packets are lost.
Test Case :
- Domain used to ping : ping epsumlabs.com
- On base Ubuntu server, ping fails, on Bitnami image of Lampp stack or Nginx stack… the ping works perfectly
- Tested with multiple images in the same and different region… problem persists with base image of ubuntu only.
