Do something for avoiding the obstacles which comes in way of the drone.

otherwise according to image processing I will plan the elevation to be reached by it to avoid maximum number of obstacles

If you are thinking about sonar senors then you need atleast 6 of them (four sides + Upside+Downside) this will increase no of devices connected therefore you will need more ports/pins to connect them.
Also you can reduce the no. of sonar sensors by restricting the drone to move in only on direction that means if you want to make the drone a reverse motion then it should turn 360 degree them start moving forward. by doing this no. of sonar sensors will be decreased to 3

Or an alternate solution may be using one sonar with 6 degrees of freedom i.e it can move in all directions acc to the motion of the drone. You can do this by using two servos.

Wont Laser sensors with an ultrasonic sensor be more helpful in implementing a SLAM algorithm (Simultaneous localization and mapping)
