STORY

Project Overview

Automated book sorter enhances the book sorting mechanisms in libraries. The book sorting mechanism is used to ensure segregation of the books according to the assigned code to facilitate easy arrangement. The system
would be designed to eliminate the manual effort required to sort the books and reduce the time consumed in sorting.
Earlier sorting was done manually. The system would use RFID to sort the books based on the department to which it belongs to. This could further be bettered using image processing.

How To Receive Resume Credit

Resume credits would be awarded to anybody who helps with the conceptualization and building the different blocks of the project.

Why I’m Passionate About This Project

I have seen many libraries stack book randomly when they are returned and they are sorted later. The main reason for this is the influx of book returners and borrowers on certain days. As a result of this procedure, we don’t get access to borrow the newly returned books if they are at the bottom of the stack. This causes a lot of problem for the students during exams if they are dependent on the library for books. I believe having highly efficient machines at the least price would encourage these libraries to install such machines making it better for both the libraries and members.
