RC Car from scratch DVD writer
October, 2012 for less than a year
The RC car is made of High density poly ethylene (HDPE) plastic of DVD writer. The rack and pinion system used in the opening mechanism of the DVD player is used for steering mechanism. The rear gear assembly is taken from broken toys. It is meshed with the rear shaft gear. The tyres used are from a toy car found in scrap shop. Hence both front and rear motors are connected to a remote. The remote works on the basis of DPDT switch; which switches polarity when tapped. Later the car was made wireless with the help of transmitter and receiver modules 434 MHz. The total expenditure of the project sums to a mere 50 rupees. It teaches about the material usage from junk and learning to make best use of it.
It’s a good mini project to try.
